Unhelpful thinking causes negative feelings and behaviours.

It is common for people with perfectionism to have unhelpful thinking style of all or nothing, noticing the negatives while ignoring the positives, double standards, overgeneralization and “shoulds”. However, these thoughts are not facts.

Challenging these unhelpful thoughts by completing thought diaries help you to have a more balanced thinking style. This requires regular practice.
